Training objective:
Participants will learn the basic functions and use of the Windows operating system.

Description of the training:
The training will introduce the basic functions of the Windows operating system, including file management, window management and basic settings. We will also cover installation and how to safely browse and surf the Internet in a Windows environment. The course is a good starting point for those who have no prior knowledge of the Windows operating system and want to learn the basics.

Day 1: Introduction to the Windows operating system

  • Introduction to the Windows operating system: Getting started
  • Basic settings: OneDrive, Microsoft ID, My account, Notifications
  • Window management and file management, screen and taskbar customisation
  • Advanced tricks: screen lock settings, night mode, zoom, sound and colour settings

Day 2: Security and installation

  • Windows Defender and Windows Update settings
  • Opening files, associating applications
  • Installing and uninstalling programs and applications
  • Browsers and Windows security settings
  • Security and Internet: principles and practical tips (e.g. password use, sharing, downloading)
